Spring Newsletter
March is Kidney Cancer Awareness Month
Over $30,000 donated to LVTCI thanks to YOU!
Thanks to your unwavering support, we proudly donated over $30,000 to Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute in 2024, directly funding the annual Kidney Cancer Symposium this Spring and advancing research on a new quality-of-life questionnaire. Your generosity continues to make a powerful impact and we are deeply grateful for your dedication to this cause!
Hot off the Press - Make your voice heard for kidney cancer funding!
Congress will be voting on a continuing resolution March 11th that will drastically cut the funding to the CDMRP which supports medical research programs including kidney cancer research. If you have a few minutes today, please contact your legislators and ask them to protect the full funding of this life-saving program. You can find your representatives' contact information using this tool: https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member
Become an Advocate!
Once again, ADF has partnered with KidneyCAN to support their Spring advocacy days, speaking with members of congress to ensure kidney cancer research funding remains in the national budget. All patients, families, caregivers, friends, and medical professionals are welcome to become advocates. Most advocates will meet virtually with their representatives and Congressional staff in their home districts to ask for research funding and KidneyCAN provides the education and training you need.
Interested in joining the Fall advocacy sessions? Contact Joann at Joann@andyderrfoundation.org to join the team!

Your unique medical information can help tRCC research
ADF is excited to announce a new partnership with Count Me In, a nonprofit research initiative that engages patients and enables them to accelerate cancer research by sharing their samples, their clinical information, and their voices. Count Me In (CMI) began with discussions between Emerson Collective and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in 2013.
Count Me In’s tRCC Project is now open for enrollment. This new initiative focuses on research into translocation renal cell carcinoma (tRCC), and we invite patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to learn more and consider getting involved. Visit trccproject.org to find out more.
